Erik has been part of the communications department of Leyden Academy since November 2023. As the point of contact for the Vitality focus area, he provides communication support to research projects that focus on improving a healthy lifestyle.
Erik previously worked on a freelance basis for various city marketing departments in the Netherlands, where he was responsible for press strategy and press editing. He also works as a travel reporter and photographer for newspapers and magazines such as National Geographic Traveler, Lonely Planet, De Telegraaf and Algemeen Dagblad. During the pandemic he published two books about traveling in his own country, called Expeditie Achtertuin.
