Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing’s mission is to increase knowledge about ageing and vitality, and making it accessible to policymakers, healthcare providers and the general public in order to improve the quality of life of older people. The knowledge institute was established in November 2008, as an initiative of Vereniging Aegon.
Leyden Academy, in cooperation with their partners, are committed with heart and soul to supporting an age-friendly society so that the extra years of life we gain are meaningful, enjoyable years. We want to contribute to a society in which the qualities of the young and old are valued and appreciated. Where people of older ages feel connected and invited to participate. Where quality of life and individual freedom are the guiding principles when increased care is required. And where one’s environment encourages healthy and social choices.
