Leyden Academy and Jo Visser foundation want to contribute to a better quality of education in elder healthcare and adjust the negative perceptions of the elderly. Under the banner ‘Life’s lessons’ MBO and HBO students are challenged to take a fresh look at the quality of healthcare for the elderly and to consider how it could be improved. Meetings between young and old will add to more understanding between the generations. Life’s lessons are also a way to gauge how the knowledge and experiences of the students do or don’t align with the demands of the healthcare organisations and their clients. Together with the municipalities, educational institutions, social agencies and other parties, we are searching for the connecting factor to increase knowledge and improve the perceptions about the elderly.
